According to a press statement issued by the Nepali embassy in Tokyo on Tuesday, doctors involved in the medical checkup and treatment decided to discharge Yadav as the reports of all the tests conducted were found to be normal. Yadav had undergone comprehensive medical tests including colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT scan, PET scan, X-rays and blood tests. [break]
Prof. Toshiaki Watanabe, vice-director of the premier medical institute,has been supervising a team of medical experts, since Dr Yadav was admited to the Hospital on June 18. Sources at the embassy said Yadav is likely to return to Nepal on Thursday evening via Thai Airway flight.
Dr Yadav was flown to Tokyo for further diagnosis and treatment on the recommendation of a medical board after a black spot was detected in his large intestine. Medical checkups at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj and Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi had concluded that there were "some serious problems" in his intestine.
The government had decided to release Rs 6 million for his treatment.
