In a message of best wishes on the occasion, President Yadav said festivals like Dashain bring together individuals, families and society, and are also important medium to express ones social and cultural identity.[break]
Preservation and promotion of festivals like these would ultimately help consolidate the foundation of national unity, Dr Yadav has said in the message.
President Yadav also states that the upcoming November 19 CA elections should be concluded in a free and fair manner and present an example before the world by drafting a new constitution as per our need and relevance.
"For this Nepalis of all religion, sex and community should maintain and build a spirit of goodwill, brotherhood and fraternity and utilize this opportunity to receive the people´s mandate for the same," the President stated.
In his message on the same occasion, Vice President Parmananda Jha has stated that peace, prosperity and democratic constitution were aspirations of all Nepalis, and so it was our common duty and responsibility to ensure the CA elections are held peacefully.
The Vice-president has also wished that all Nepali people, political parties and the government become successful in fulfilling this important duty.
Likewise, issuing a message on the occasion, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi has wished that may Nawa Durga Bhawani inspire us all to maintain peace, goodwill and solidarity and guide us towards the path to socio-economic and political transformation of the country.
Chairman Regmi has also said that cultural diversity in the Nepali society is exemplary before the world and also the foundation for positive transformation of the country.
"The November 19 CA elections is the only alternative at present for the peace and prosperity of Nepal and the Nepalis", he has said in the message adding that making the elections successful was the first priority and goal of the present government.
On the occasion, Chairman Regmi has also appealed to all Nepali brothers and sisters to accept this special opportunity and right given by history and work to ensure that the election is successful.
In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami-2070, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that the festival is observed every year by the Nepali society for forging and promoting family love, social goodwill, mutual cooperation and solidarity.
"If we set aside all our differences and correct our shortcomings, and thereby take this festival as one that promotes the overall interest of the nation as a whole then its significance and utility will increase", President Koirala has said in the message.
In a similar message, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended heartfelt greetings to all Nepali brothers and sisters on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami and wished that the festival inspire us all to draft a new constitution for federal democratic republic Nepal.
