KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Nepali people, mainly Hindus celebrated Vijaya Dashami, the 10th day of the Bada Dashain festival on Tuesday by receiving Tika, Jamara and blessings from elders.
The Goddess of the festival was disposed in rivers and ponds as per religious rituals (Bisarjan). The auspicious time of receiving Tika was 10:35 am today.

The Vijaya Dashami is observed to mark the victory of truth over evil and the victory of divine forces over evil forces. However, people will continue receiving Tika and Jamara for the next four days. Dashain is the longest and greatest festival of Nepali Hindus.
