The 21-member high-level delegation led by Communist Party of China´s secretary He Yong sought assurance from Nepal that it would not allow any anti-China activities to occur from within its soil, said Rajendra Dahal, press adviser to the president. Yadav, in return, reiterated Nepal´s stance on one-China policy.
During the half-an-hour meet, the delegation also expressed its serious concerns over the ongoing peace and constitution drafting process and hoped that the political parties would bury their hatchet to forge a consensus soon.
At a time when parliament has repeatedly failed to elect a new prime minister, the visit of the Chinese delegation is believed to have much significance by the country´s political circle.
The members of the Chinese delegation assured China´s continued political and economic support to Nepal in the future as well.
The meeting also dwelt on President Yadav´s proposed visit to China at the concluding ceremony of Shanghai Expo that is slated for October-end.
Earlier, the delegation had called on caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and inquired about the peace and constitution drafting process.
The delegation also held a separate meeting with CPN (UML) Chairman Jhalanath Khanal.
