KATHMANDU, Feb 10: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Tuesday afternoon promulgated three ordinances as recommended by the cabinet. Press advisor to the president, Rajendra Dahal, told myrepublica.com that the Head of State put his signatures on the ordinances on disappearances, voters’ list and inclusion in public services. The ordinances have raised controversy after the main opposition, Nepali Congress, led a campaign demanding a special House session to convert the ordinances into bills.

On Monday, 18 of the 25 parties in the Constituent Assembly asked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to summon special session of parliament to discuss the ordinances.

However, the Maoists, who lead the government, are determined to press the ordinances ahead. The government had forwarded the ordinances to the president´s Office at Shital Niwas on February 8.

Though the cabinet decided in principle on January 28 to push two more ordinances on investment board and special economic zone, these two were not forwarded to the Shital Niwas.
