Prez, PM calls for unity to bring prosperity and devt in the country

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended her best wishes on the 69th National Democracy Day and has urged all to move ahead by upholding fundamental principles and values of democracy.

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended her best wishes on the 69th National Democracy Day and has urged all to move ahead by upholding fundamental principles and values of democracy.  


In the greetings message delivered today, Bhandari expressed her confidence that the Democracy Day would bring energy and help to materialize the national aspiration of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali'.

"I would like to pay homage to all the known and unknown martyrs who lost their lives for democracy. May this Day encourage all the Nepali people to adopt democracy as a lifestyle", reads the message.


Likewise, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that time has come for the realization of the Nepali people's long-held aspiration for development and prosperity. 



Oli said as the country is heading towards prosperity the Nepali people's wish for development and prosperity since decades is in the process of being fulfilled.


"We are now focused against unemployment, backwardness, discrimination and underdevelopment to defeat autocracy and totalitarianism," the Prime Minister has said in the message adding, "Nepal is now heading towards complete democracy along with economic development and social justice." 


On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli has also extended heartfelt tributes to all those who attained martyrdom in the movement for the cause of democracy. RSS
