Prez inaugurates ICT Center at IOE

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Sunday inaugurated the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk Campus, TU. The center was established with financial assistance of USD 5 million from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Sunday inaugurated the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk Campus, TU. The center was established with financial assistance of USD 5 million from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). 



Education Minister Dhaniram Paudel and South Korean Ambassador Choe Yong-Jin were also present at the inauguration ceremony. The key objective of the newly established ICT center is to enhance the ICT capabilities in Nepal and improve access to quality ICT education through infrastructure and capability building, according to KOICA.



KOICA's strategic goal for the education sector in Nepal includes providing ICT and vocational education opportunities to Nepalese people in order to increase their productivity and income level.



KOICA has been providing development assistance to Nepal for the upliftment of education, health and agriculture sector since 1991.
