Prez in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, Oct 29: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, who is on a six-day visit to China to attend the concluding ceremony of the Shanghai expo, arrived in Shanghai on Friday from Xian, Shaanxi Province.



The president will take part in the concluding ceremony to be attended by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabo and eight heads of state and governments on Saturday evening. [break]He will then attend the dinner to be hosted by the Chinese Prime Minister.



The president visited the Nepal Pavilion, which has attracted over 7.5 million observers, and met Nepalis there, in the evening hours after he landed in Shanghai, one of the main commercial hubs of the northern neighbor.



The president will meet Ban, Chinese Prime Minister Wen and Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajpaksa on Sunday. This will be the first high-level meeting of the president with Chinese leaders since he became the first president of Nepal in May 2008.



Earlier on Friday afternoon before leaving for Shanghai from Xian, President Yadav visited China´s Museum of Quin Terracotta Warriors and Horses, one of the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century in Xian, the capital of Shaanxi province, RSS reported.
