Prez dispels President's rule rumours

JANAKPUR, May 16: Amid rumours that there will be President’s rule in the country after May 28, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Monday,ruled out the possibility of this.



Talking to reporters at Sapahi on Monday, President Dr. Yadav said since the Interim Constitution has no provision regarding President’s rule, there won’t be such in the country.[break]



On extension of the Constituent Assembly’s tenure, he said whether or not to expand the constitution-making body’s term should be sorted out through political consensus.



Replying to a query of reporters, he said he was committed to republic while being a political cadre and is more dedicated to institutionalization of republic after becoming the President.
