Prez confers Bidya Bhusan honors to 248 students

KATHANDU, Sept 8: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has conferred Bidhyabhusan honours and certificates on some 248 outstanding graduates.



The honoured include those having completed their Ph.D. from different universities in and outside the country and the students securing highest scores in different academic levels. [break]



President Dr Yadav awarded the honours and certificates to the genius students of different levels amid a special function organized by the Ministry of Education at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas, on the occasion of National Literacy Day today.



At the function, some 152 Ph.D. graduates were felicitated with ´A´ grade honour of Nepal Bidhyabhusan along with certificate.



Likewise, ´B´ grade award of Nepal Bidhyabhusan was conferred on some 58 Master´s Degree students obtaining highest score under different faculties.



President Dr Yadav feted 20 students securing top scores in Bachelor´s Degree under different faculties with ´C´ grade of Nepal Bidhyabhusan and certificate.



Similarly, the President honoured some 13 girl students, who obtained highest marks in Bachelor´s Degree annual examinations under different faculties with Nepal Girl Students Bidhya Award.



Nepal Girl Student Bidhya Award was provided to six studnts who secured high scores at Intermediate Level.



Present on the occasion were Vice-president Parmananda Jha, Chairperson of interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, Education Minister Madhav Prasad Poudel and other high-placed government officials.



The slogan of this year´s National Literacy Day is ´Child-friendly compulsory education; guarantee of knowledge and skills´.
