KATHMANDU, May 16: Independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balendra Shah 'Balen' has maintained his lead in the ongoing vote counting. According to the details of the vote counting till 9 PM, he has received 8,248 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 16: Independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balendra Shah 'Balen' has maintained his lead in the ongoing vote counting. According to the details of the vote counting till 9 PM, he has received 8,248 votes.

Meanwhile, Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML is following Shah with 4,342 votes and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Srijana Singh, who is contesting from the ruling alliance, has secured 3,781 votes.


In the post of Deputy Mayor, Sunita Dangol of CPN-UML has continued to maintain lead with a huge margin of vote. While Dangol has secured 7,625 votes, her nearest rival Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) secured 2,123 votes.
