KATHMANDU, Jan 5: At a time when the political parties are at odds over the constitution amendment bill, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has summoned the top leaders of the major five political parties for discussions.
The President summoned the top leaders of Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (Democratic) to Sheetal Niwas, the President’s Office.
The main opposition party, UML, has been protesting with the demand to withdraw the constitution amendment bill. However, the ruling parties are in no mood to recall the bill.
