KATHMANDU, March 15: A ‘pressure cooker bomb’ exploded on the tower premises of Nepal Telecom (NTC) located in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-1 Dumja Danda of Sindhuli. An improvised cooker bomb exploded in the tower complex of Nepal Telecom in BP Park in Dumja Danda around 3 AM on Friday.

DSP Chiranjeevi Dahal said that there was minor damage to the windows of the building in the tower area due to the explosion, but there was no damage to the telecom tower.

As soon as the information about the explosion was received, a team was dispatched from Kusheshwar Dumja Police Station. The team found a cooker hood stuck in the window of a concrete building on the tower premises of Nepal Telecom, parts of the cooker were on the floor, two empty bottles smelling of petrol and a leaflet written Jana Mukti Sena were found nearby.

The police said that the incident is being investigated and a search is on for those involved in the explosion.
