KATHMANDU, August 1: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended her best wishes to all Nepali Muslim sisters and brothers at home and abroad for their happiness, peace, prosperity, long life and good health on the occasion of Bakar-Eid.
In a message given today, President Bhandari stated this festival is vital for the exchange of goodwill and best wishes. She expressed her confidence that the festival would help promote mutual goodwill, tolerance, togetherness and fraternity since the people of Muslim community read out the Namaz collectively on this day.

"Nepal is home to diverse ethnicities, languages and cultures. I am confident that such festivals could help promote and strengthen national unity by uniting the citizens socially and culturally," reads the message.
Furthermore, the president has hoped that the people of this community will observe the festival with precautions at a time when the world is reeling under the coronavirus pandemic.

Similarly, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed his best wishes to the people of the Islam community on the occasion of Bakar-Eid, adding that this festival could promote mutual goodwill, tolerance, togetherness and fraternity and make vital contribution to the promotion of Nepal's unique cultures and traditions.
The PM wished this festival helped materialize the national aspirations for stability, economic development, prosperity and happiness in the life of people.
