KATHMANDU, Sept 11: A team of the newly elected office-bearers including the president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (FWEAN), Shova Gyawali, met with President Ramchandra Paudel on Sunday. In the meeting, the President expressed his gratitude to the Federation for their presence.

The President said that in the past, the government had not been able to effectively utilize the potential of the education, health, and infrastructure sectors to enhance productivity. Referring to the present, Paudel stated, "Now, entrepreneurs at the district and provincial levels are prepared. You have spread entrepreneurship in every village. This contributes to a thriving economy."

After the meeting with President Paudel, newly elected FWEAN President Gyawali, while talking to journalists, highlighted the need for the Women Entrepreneurs Association to have their own building. She said, "To market the products of women entrepreneurs and for their economic empowerment, we need a significant amount of space, including various facilities. According to President Gyawali, if the government allocates land in any part of Kathmandu, the Association will prioritize the construction of a building equipped with exhibition halls and other amenities. She stated, "The national and international marketization of products by women entrepreneurs is not only possible but also convenient. Providing various skill-based training to women is not only achievable but also easy."

According to FWEAN President Gyawali, the Federation had previously urged the then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to provide land for the construction of its own building. She mentioned, "We had requested the then Prime Minister Deuba during our meeting and he had expressed commitment to providing land for the construction of the Federation’s building."

The Federation has been actively engaging in discussions and advocacy for the social and economic empowerment of women. Additionally, it ensures the representation of women entrepreneurs in the policy-making and decision-making processes at both national and international levels, advocating the guaranteed rights of women entrepreneurs in a strengthened manner.
