KATHMANDU, Jan 15: President Ram Chandra Paudel has invited the leaders of all parties to Sheetal Niwas to exchange greetings on Maghi festival.

He has invited the parliamentary party leaders for 11 AM on Monday.

President Paudel's Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel informed Republica, "The President has invited just for the exchange of good wishes, not any other matter."

Today, devotees and pilgrims across the country are celebrating Maghe Sankranti with various programs. The federal government has given festive holidays across the country. This festival is celebrated not only within the country but also abroad.

Devotees are taking bath at various shrines in the country. On these days, bathing, chanting, penance, meditation, and giving charity are conducted at various shrines. And, slightly different dishes are cooked and eaten.

Devghat, Trishuli, Kaligandaki, Vagmati, Indravati, Triveni, Ridi and other places especially on the day of Maghe Sankranti are thronged by devotees to take holy baths.
