Bhandari was elected as the first female president of the country from the parliament on Wednesday.
After taking oath, President Bhandari was introduced to the outgoing President Ram Baran Yadav, Vice-President Paramananda Jha, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar among other dignitaries.
Present on the occasion were the Deputy Prime Ministers, the Ministers, former Prime Ministers, chiefs of constitutional bodies, various political party leaders, high level officials, chiefs of various diplomatic missions among others.
On the occasion, outgoing President Yadav had handed over the responsibility of the Office of the President to the new President Bhandari. Nepal Army presented a 21-gun salute and a guard of honour to the new President Bhandari.
Newly-elected President Bhandari had reached Sheetal Niwas with special security arrangement to take the oath of office and secrecy.
