President Bhandari, Prime Minister Oli congratulate US President Joe Biden

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have sent separate messages of felicitations to the high offices of the United States of America today on the assumption of the office by the newly elected US President Joe Biden.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have sent separate messages of felicitations to the high offices of the United States of America today on the assumption of the office by the newly elected US President Joe Biden.


President Bhandari underlined the excellent state of bilateral relations between the two countries. Appreciating the US cooperation in socioeconomic development of Nepal, she expressed her confidence that the rich and multi-faceted Nepal-US relations will continue to deepen and expand during the tenure of President Biden. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she has extended best wishes to the new leadership for a successful tenure and also in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Similarly, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed his confidence that the United States will continue to achieve progress and prosperity under the able leadership of President Biden. Reaffirming Nepal’s commitment to longstanding friendship with the United States, the PM expressed Nepal’s desire to work together with the new US leadership on matters of mutual interests and towards advancing agendas of global importance at the multilateral level. He expressed confidence that the bilateral relations, underpinned by cooperation, economic partnerships as well as people-to-people contacts, will reach new heights in the years ahead.


He also took to his twitter and wrote, “I look forward to working closely with him in further strengthening traditionally warm and friendly ties between our two countries.”


Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. assumed the office on Wednesday as the 46th President of the United States.
