Power production shuts down in Chilime

RASUWA, Aug 5: Power production from the 22 MW Chilime Hydropower Center has come to a halt after the power cables of the national transmission grid broke off.

The transmission line broke off all of a sudden at the 48 number tower in Lahare village of Uttargaya rural municipality-5, according to the Chilime Hydropower Centre. As a result, Rasuwa district has been plunged into darkness in the evening.


Meanwhile, communications have been established with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) national office and power supply could resume by Tuesday, said the center authorities.
