KATHMANDU, August 1: The politicians implicated in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam have approached the Patan High Court, saying that the District Court’s order to imprison them is invalid.

Nepali Congress leader and former home minister Bal Krishna Khand, CPN-UML Secretary and former deputy prime minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Bhutanese refugee leader Tek Nath Rijal have appealed to the Patan High Court demanding that the District Court's order should be overturned and they should be released on their own recognizance.

They have demanded an order to release them from prison, saying that they have been imprisoned without adequate consideration of the case’s content and evidence. The Patan High Court has already ordered a detailed report on Khand and Rayamajhi. In the case of those who have already submitted applications, the district court has already submitted the detailed report to the Patan High Court.

After receiving a writ petition against the order of the District Court, the High Court orders the concerned District Court to send a 'Detailed Report'. The detailed description prepared with the basis of the accusation against the concerned person and the order made on the basis thereof is called the detailed report. After receiving the detailed report, the High Court reviews the order of the District Court along with the hearing and announces an additional order.
