KATHMANDU, March 21: The Election Commission of Nepal has given political parties willing to contest the upcoming by-election in Tanahun-1 and Bara-2 till March 26 to register their candidates.
The seats of House of Representatives members from Tanahun-1 and Bara-2 have fallen vacant after Ram Chandra Paudel, HoR member elected from Tanahun-1, was elected to the post of president while Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, HoR member elected from Bara-2 was elected to the post of vice-president.
The commission is conducting a by-election in both the constituencies on April 23.
The EC issued a notice on Tuesday and shared the deadline for registration of political parties willing to contest the by-election for the vacant seats. A decision to hold by-election in these two constituencies was taken in a meeting held last Monday, according to the notice.
