Police take nearly 1,500 vehicles under control in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Police have taken 1,436 vehicles under control for operating without a pass on Election Day.

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Police have taken 1,436 vehicles under control for operating without a pass on Election Day. 


According to SSP Rajendra Prasad Bhatta of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the vehicles were seized in the Valley from 4 AM to 1:30 PM. These include 87 four-wheelers and 1,349 two-wheelers.

SSP Bhatta informed Republica that the seized vehicles will be handed over to the respective owners at 7 PM after the election is over. The Election Commission (EC) has allowed only the vehicles belonging to the essential services to operate on Election Day with the valid identity cards issued by their offices.
