BHACCHEK (Gorkha), Feb 19: The police stations in the district that were ravaged during the different stages of the decade-long armed insurgency have finally been reinstated in full capacity.
Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction's Peace Fund Secretariat issued the budget for rebuilding the Area Police Office, Arughat in the first phase and the Area Police Office, Jaiwari and Tangling Chowk Police Post in the second and third phases.
The police offices at Arughat and Jaiwari are already in operation whereas the police stations in Tanglinchowk, Bhacchek and Gankhu Naya Sanghu were inaugurated only on Saturday.
The police post at Bhacchek built at a total cost of Rs 9.3 million was inaugurated by Regional Police Office, Pokhara's Chief, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kamal Singh Bam. He also inaugurated the police station at Tangling Chowk built at a cost of Rs 12.5 million.
The construction of the buildings needed to house the police posts have not moved forward due to lack of land properties in name of Nepal Police, shared Superintendent of Police (SP), Janak Raj Pandey of District Police Office, Gorkha. RSS
