Police recover weapons from Singh's house

KATHMANDU, Sept. 1: Police on Saturday seized some weapons and hide from the house of Manoj Bahadur Singh who was arrested on Friday on the charge of pocketing Rs 50 million by duping different people with false promises of finding them jobs.



A police team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) seized a pistol, an air gun and its magazines from Singh´s house at Imadol, Lalitpur. The police team was acting on a tip-off that the weapons were hidden in a well at Singh´s house, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at CIB Jagdishchandra Pokhrel.



On Friday, police had seized 89 passports with fake visa stickers from his rented-room in Koteshwor.



Police said that Singh, the son of former member of Rajsabha Permanent Committee Himalaya Bahadur Singh, has established close nexus with the top security officers as well.



Police claimed that Singh has cheated over 400 people luring them of jobs in foreign countries.
