DIG and Spokesman of Nepal Police Nabaraj Dhakal said security personnel have beefed up security in public places and has stepped up security mechanism.

He said police are concerned over the blasts and criminal activities within the last two weeks in Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Rupandehi and Janakpur districts.

Police chiefs in concerned districts have been directed to make security tight, DIG Dhakal said. "We have been making the best use of the human resources of Nepal Police to prevent any incident from happening."

Police say the Bhawani Singh group, an armed outfit, has been trying to create terror after its chief Bhawani Singh and some of his aides were gunned down.

They are not affiliated to any party, the DIG said, adding, "Bhawani Singh´s group is active in Terai just for financial gain and has been collecting ransom by kidnapping people."
