Police off to dominant start

KATHMANDU, April 17: Defending champion Nepal Police Club made a dominant start in the Women's National League Football Tournament with a thumping 13-0 win over Mid-western Region in the curtain raiser at the ANFA ground, Satdobato on Sunday.

Nisha Sunar was on target on four occasions while Niru Thapa and Srijana Khadka completed a hat-trick each for the departmental giant. Amrita Jaisi, Yasodha Lama and Rupa Magar were also on target for Police.


In another match, Eastern Region came from behind to draw 1-1 against Central Region. Rashmi Kumari gave lead to Central in the injury time before the break. Rekha Paudel netted the equalizer in the 59th minute.
