Police now on facebook

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: On the occasion of 57th Police Day, Nepal Police has started using social networking site-facebook from Tuesday in order to curb crimes and to seek feedback from the public for better policing.



According to Police Inspector Binod Kharel, who is also head of News section at Police Headquater, police created a facebook page for make general public aware about the police activities and get comments and suggestions from people. "Recently we have uploaded some photos and videos but later we plan to make it interactive," he said. He informed that more than a thousand people have liked the page once it was created.[break]



The suggestion and comments on the site would be helpful in the effective policing and formulating plans for better operation. Facebook users can like the page -www.facebook.com/nepalpolice and observe or comment on. Chief of army staff(CoAS) Gaurava Shumsher Rana had also created a facebook site once he was appointed the army chief.
