Police meet WAPDA in opener

KATHMANDU, March 22: Nepal Police Club will open their AFC President´s Cup group C qualifiers campaign playing against Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) FC of Pakistan at the Dasharath Stadium on April 20.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) released the fixture of the event on Tuesday which will be held in May to April 20-24 at the Dasharath Stadium and Halchowk Ground. [break]

Police, the league winners of Nepal will play all three matches of the group at the Dasharath Stadium. The other teams in the group are Taiwan Power Company of Chinese Taipei and FC Nebitchi of Turkmenistan.

On April 22, Police will play against FC Nebitchi and two days later meet Taiwan Power Company. All the matches will begin at 15:30 NST.

President´s Cup is the annual event of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) which features the league winners of third tier footballing nations of Asia as classified by the AFC.

The 12 teams competing in the event (qualifiers) have been divided into three groups. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the six-team finals to be played at a centralized venue.
