KATHMANDU, April 26: Police have disclosed the identities of seven individuals arrested along with 1,768.25 grams of gold and Rs 14.2 million in cash.
During a press conference held by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office on Friday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surakshya KC provided details of the arrests. Among those detained are 47-year-old Ganesh Dutta Badu from Darchula, 37-year-old Amal Bibhuti from Maharashtra, 18-year-old Prakash Bibhuti and Ganesh Satish Balte, both from the same location.

Additionally, 30-year-old Dinesh Kharel and 22-year-old Bharat Raj Kharel from Birtamod, Jhapa, and 21-year-old Aayush Badu from Darchula were also taken into custody.
Acting on a tip-off that some individuals were involved in illegal gold trading at Dukhchhen Tole in Ward-24 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, a team deployed from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office had conducted a raid. Seven individuals, including Ganesh Datta Badu of Ward-3 of Mahakali Municipality, Darchula District, were found to be in possession of gold-like particles weighing a total of 9 tolas and 768.25 grams, along with cash amounting to Rs 14.3 million. They were apprehended while engaging in the gold trade.
The Crime Investigation Office reported that the gold, cash, and suspects were seized during a raid at a hundi godown in New Road on Thursday.
