KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Senior police constable Shambhu Gurung, who allegedly beat up a Senior Orthopedic surgeon at National Trauma Center Janith Lal Singh has been suspended.
Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police, DIG Posh Raj Pokharel, informed Republica that Gurung, who allegedly beat up Dr Singh, had been suspended.
He said, “Senior police constable Gurung has been suspended. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway. Action will be taken against him. We are in the process of negotiation with the agitating doctors.”
While President Bidya Devi Bhandari was returning after addressing the Federal Parliament, Gurung, a police officer deployed for the security of the president, had beaten up Dr Jenith Singh, who is working at the Trauma Center.
