JANAKPURDHAM, Sept 24: All nine detainees who escaped by breaking the ventilation of a detention cell at the Dhanusha District Police Office have been arrested.

The detainees who had been arrested on various charges escaped from custody in Dhanusha in the wee hours, Monday morning.

Seven of them were apprehended yesterday, while two were caught today, according to Dhanusha police spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ranjan Awa. He mentioned that seven were arrested from Dhanusha itself, while the other two were apprehended in India.

While searching for the escaped detainees, the police immediately apprehended Satyam Jha from Janak Chowk, DSP Awa stated.

Similarly, the other six inmates were arrested from a rice field in Lakhouri, located near the Vaidehi Station in Mithila Municipality, Dhanusha.

The escaped inmates included Amit Kumar Jha, Ranjit Mandal, Roshan Kumar Mandal, Abhaskar Kumar Yadav, Bishal Mukhiya, and Manish Mandal and Bikki Karki, who were arrested for drug-related offenses and indecent behavior, along with one minor.
