Police arrest 8 including 7 women from Indo-Nepal border

BIRATNAGAR, March 13:  Police have nabbed seven women and a man for being allegedly involved in huaman trafficking from the Rani border point along the Nepal-India border here in Morang on Saturday night.



Acting on a tip-off, the police held them before they could head for New Delhi via Jogbani train station, according to the Eastern Region Police Office.
However, the real motive behind the women’s journey to New Delhi is yet to be known.

The women arrested by the police are from Chitwan, Ramechhap, Sunsari, Udayapur and Sankhuwasabha districts. The man has been identified as Rohit Darnal, 30, of Inaruwa, Sunsari.


The women were handed over to KI Nepal, an NGO.  Darnal has been kept at the Rani-based border police station for further investigation.
