Police arrest 5 CPN-Maoist cadres for poll security

BAGLUNG, Nov 2: Police have arrested five CPN-Maoist cadres from Baglung bazaar for security reasons during the upcoming Constituent Assembly election.



The arrested are All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) (ANNISU-R) central member Padam Chhetri, District Chairman Rim Roka, Vice Chairman Shiva Shakya, district members of People’s Volunteers Ramesh Thapa and Yam Bahadur Gharti, confirmed police. [break]



Five CPN-Maoist cadres have been detained for investigation, said DSP Surendra Gurung of Baglung District Police Office.



Meanwhile, the CPN-Maoist has lashed out at the government for arresting their innocent cadres and warned of stronger stir if the cadres are not released immediately.



We demand an immediate release of our cadres who have been arrested at the behest of the UCPN (Maoist), said UCPN (Maoist) central party member Tek Bahadur KC.

UCPN (Maoist) vehicles had been torched in Bihun and Abharbhumi in the district one day before Chairman Dahal arrived in Baglung.
