A large number of heads of states and governments, ministers and business leaders, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Chairman of the Intelsat Raymond Svider were present during the dinner hosted by the union, the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN and Other International Organizations in Geneva said in a press release on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General Ban Ki-moon highlighted the global financial and economic crisis, climate change and cyber security as major crises facing the world and called for collective efforts from all countries to mitigate the impacts, the release added.
Upon his arrival in Geneva International Airport, Pokharel was received by Nepal´s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr Dinesh Bhattarai and other officials of the mission.
Pokharel is accompanied by his advisor Pramod Dahal, and officials from his ministry and Nepal Telecom Authority.
