“Tentatively, the prime minister will pay a visit to India on August 18-19,” Rajan Bhattarai, the prime minister´s foreign affairs advisor told myrepublica.com.
Bhattarai who accompanied the prime minister to NAM summit added, “But details of his India visit have yet to be finalized.”
According to members of the Nepali delegation to NAM, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his meeting with Nepal on the sidelines of the NAM summit extended a formal invitation to Nepal to visit India.
“The Indian prime minister requested Prime Minister Nepal to pay a visit to India during their meeting in Egypt,” Madan Bhattarai, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a member of Nepali delegation to NAM, said.
Bhattarai informed that Prime Minister Nepal briefed his Indian counterpart on the progress made toward peace process and Singh extended India´s full support to the peace process and constitution-drafting process. Besides, the two sides also agreed to expedite many bilateral projects that have already been agreed upon.
“Besides expressing India´s support to Nepal´s peace process, the two executive heads discussed the need to speed up the already agreed upon bilateral projects between the two neighboring countries,” Bhattarai added.
