On the occasion of World Environment Day on Saturday, the prime minister said, “Every village and ward must have an attractive park.”
Encouraging everyone to make it a nationwide campaign, Prime Minister Nepal said, “Inside all governmental, non-governmental and community buildings there must be a well-managed garden.”
He further said there must be thick tree growth on both sides of highways, link roads and river banks. He said tree plantation is the only way to save environment from further degradation. He also said that every official building, private compound, factory and big hotel premises must be lush green.
He urged the educational institutions to engage its students in this noble campaign.

Stating that climate change has threatened the livelihoods of indigenous nationalities and marginalized communities of the developing countries, the prime minister said that the developed countries should work more responsible at assisting the third world countries to fight the challenges of climate change.
He was speaking at a function in the capital organized by the Ministry of Environment on the occasion of World Environment Day.
