PM urged to ensure one-third women participation in cabinet

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: The Inter-Party Women's Alliance (IPWA) has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal urging him to ensure one-third representation of women while expanding the Cabinet.

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: The Inter-Party Women's Alliance (IPWA) has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal urging him to ensure one-third representation of women while expanding the Cabinet.


The IPWA handed in the memorandum to the PM at his official residence Baluwatar on Friday and urged PM Dahal to ensure the one-third representation of women in constitutional, among other bodies, too.

In response to the IPWA delegation, PM Dahal shared that he had taken the initiative to elect the women to the post of President and Speaker and will do so to ensure equal participation of the women in each bodies as well, said Alliance vice-chair Sabitra Bhusal. RSS
