PM says he will build consensus among parties

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday pledged to accommodate all the political parties while formulating the new constitution and bringing the peace process to a logical end.



Addressing Democracy Day function at Tundikhel, Dahal said he is committed to resolving the country’s outstanding problems through all-party consensus.



“Multiparty system, human rights, press freedom and periodic elections are fundamentals of democracy and we need to implement them in daily life,” he said, at the function, which was attended by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and top government officials among others.



The prime minister´s statement came a day after his party, Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) authorized him to accommodate all political parties including the main opposition Nepali Congress, in the process of resolving the country´s problems.
