KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to visit the northern neighboring country China from December 2. According to high-level sources at the Prime Minister's Office, PM Oli is scheduled to make an official visit to China from December 2 to 5. The Chinese government has already sent an invitation for the official visit. The necessary preparation is underway by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sources said that, ahead of the PM’s visit to China, Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba is set to visit China to prepare for the PM’s visit. “The official date for the prime minister's visit has been set, and unless the Chinese government changes it for some reason, the prime minister will embark on his china visit on the scheduled date,” as stated by a senior official at the Prime Minister's Office.
Indian army chief and SSB chief visiting Kathmandu
During the visit, PM Oli will discuss the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects, the reopening of the Kimathanka, Korala, and Hilsa border points. It is said that discussions will be held on the much-awaited Shigatse-Kerung-Kathmandu railway work, converting Pokhara Airport’s loan into a grant.
