The launch of the stamps comes at a time when the world is celebrating 2010 as the Year of the Tiger. The year has been dedicated to creating awareness and achieving the target of doubling the number of tigers by 2022 AD.
"This Tiger Postal Stamp reinforces Nepal´s commitment to biodiversity conservation showcasing Nepal´s leadership in the international fora in the conservation of tiger and its habitat," a press release issued here by the World Wild Fund (WWF) Nepal quoted PM Nepal as saying.
"I believe that these postal stamps will help in the dissemination of message on tiger conservation not only in Nepal but also to the farthest corners of the world," Deepak Bohara, Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation, said.
