PM Koirala urges students not to torch Indian flag

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that the government was working to open the barricaded borders through diplomatic dealings soon.

While receiving the memorandum submitted by different nine student unions at his own official residence at Baluwatar today, PM Koirala said that he will strongly play the roles on the issues of nationality.


The student unions had submitted the memorandum to PM Koirala urging to resolve the problem seen in supplying petroleum products and other goods due to undeclared border blockade and other problems caused by terai protests.

According to Nepal Students' Union (NSU) spokesperson UP Lamichhane, while receiving the memorandum PM Koirala urged the students not to torch the effigy of VIPs and national flags of India. He further urged the youths to be endured in the critical situation.

The memorandum criticizes the encroachment like activities shown by Indian sides in the critical situation.

On the occasion, NSU chairman Ranjit Karna, All Nepal National Free Students' Union chair Kishor Bikram Malla among other student leaders were present. RSS
