PM invites NC for talks amid House deadlock

KATHMANDU, May 17: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has extended an invitation to the Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition, for discussions amid the ongoing parliamentary deadlock.

KATHMANDU, May 17: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has extended an invitation to the Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition, for discussions amid the ongoing parliamentary deadlock.


The NC has continued its protest in parliament demanding the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the alleged involvement of home minister Rabi Lamichhane in the misappropriation of cooperatives funds.


According to NC sources, PM Dahal has called them to Baluwatar, the PM’s official residence, for a meeting this evening.

Earlier, a joint meeting of the opposition parties convened by the NC unanimously decided to demand the formation of a parliamentary probe committee.
