MAHENDRANAGAR, April 9: Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday accused Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of losing his mental control. [break]

Deuba, who is in the far-western region in connection with the by-election being held in Kanchanpur constituency-4 on Friday, told journalists in Dhangadhi that the prime minister lambasting the press, civil society, the state army and political parties, among others, on a daily basis is tantamount to a disturbed mental state.

“What could be a better term than ‘lunatic’ to describe someone who keeps on censuring everyone and bursts into tears at the Open Air Theater?” said Deuba, adding that the PM has become desperate after all the government programs failed.

Another senior NC leader, Ram Chandra Poudel, accused the ruling Maoists of becoming the exploiters after coming into power. “The Maoists are the biggest challenge for the nation,” said Poudel, adding that they are seizing not just state resources and development funds but also the property of private individuals.
