Despite the PM´s clarification in the parliament on Tuesday, they sought clarification from Nepal on alleged arms deal with India.
"We sought further explanation from the prime minister on the issue as we were not satisfied with his reply in the House," lawmaker Rabindra Adhikary told myrepublica.com. Some UML lawmakers also accused the government of making inappropriate compromise with other political parties especially with the Nepali Congress and Madhes-based political parties on major issues. The UML leaders also warned the prime minister not to sign any arms deal with India as that would be against the Comprehensive Peace Accord, said a lawmaker present in the meeting.
The prime minister assured that the government was not signing any arms deal with India nor was it making any inappropriate compromise with other political parties. "To some extent, doing some compromises with other political is necessary in a coalition government," a lawmaker quoted the prime minister as saying.
Finance Minister Surendra Pandey was also criticized for not allocating sufficient money to the constituencies represented by UML lawmakers.
