PM directs to curb black marketing

KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Monday directed to take measures to stop price hike and curb black marketing on Monday.



PM issued a directive to this effect during his meeting with various stakeholders, including representatives of wholesale businessmen, retailers, market monitors, government corporations, held at Singha Durbar today.[break]



During the meeting, the PM also warned of strong action against any businessmen involved in black marketing by creating artificial scarcity of essential goods in the market.



Following the PM’s directive, the government is also launching an aggressive market monitoring from today onwards.



According the Department of Commerce, joint inspection teams of the department, district administration offices (DAO) and police would carry out market monitoring.
