PM Deuba, UML leader Rawal recommended for candidates in federal election

BHIMDUTTANAGAR, Oct 5: Leading political figures from the Farwest Region who are active in national politics have been recommended by their respective parties to contest in the House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections from Province 7. 

Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba have been unanimously picked as the party's candidate to contest the House of Representatives election from Dadeldhura, his home district. 

Similarly, CPN (UML) vice-chairman Bhim Rawal has been unanimously selected as the party's candidate to contest in the House of Representatives election from Achham district. 

Nepali Congress influential leaders Dilendra Prasad Badu has been recommended to contest the federal parliament election from Darchula district, Narayan Prakash Saud from Kanchanpur constituency-2 and Ramesh Lekhak from Kanchanpur constituency-3. 

Prime Minister Deuba's spouse, Dr Arzu Deuba Rana is likely to contest the House of Representatives (federal parliament) election from Kailali district constituency-5. 

Another influential leader of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Lekhraj Bhatta has been recommended by the party's Kailali district committee to contest the federal parliament election from Kailali constituency-4. 

The NC Doti district committee has recommended the name of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Bir Bahadur Balayar as the party's candidate to contest the House of Representatives election from the district. 

Minister of State for Commerce Nara Bahadur Chand has been recommended as the party's candidate to contest the House of Representatives election from Baitadi district. 
PM Deuba and UML vice-chair Rawal are the only leaders from Province 7 who have been unanimously recommended by their respective parties as the party candidates. The names of the rest of the party leaders have been recommended alongside the names other district-level party leaders and sent to the party central committees for decision.
