KATHMANDU, Sept 5: The National Day against Human Trafficking and Transportation is being observed in Nepal today. On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba has claimed that all three levels of government are making efforts to prevent human trafficking.
Speaking on the occasion of the 15th National Day against Human Trafficking and Transportation, PM Deuba assured that the government has prioritized efforts to control human trafficking.

In addition, PM Deuba also wished well for the future to all the present activists against human trafficking at the event. He also announced the need to prioritize awareness programs to prevent such crimes inside the country.
Furthermore, people’s representative and chairman of the Women and Social Affairs Committee of the Federal Parliament, Niru Devi Pal said that the condition of women in the 21st century is very sad. She stated that there is a need to abolish crimes related to human trafficking inside the country. She also urged everyone to unite from their respective areas to bring an end to such crimes.
Likewise, Roshni Kumari Shrestha, chief of Human Trafficking and Transportation branch said that women are being trafficked by luring them with foreing employment opportunities.
As many as 1,331 women and children were rescued by the government with the help of various organizations in the last fiscal year under the ‘Human Trafficking Free Society, Our Commitment: Everyone's efforts and Solidarity’ campaign.
