KATHMANDU, August 3: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has halted the transfer of Dr Jageshwar Gautam, chief administrative officer (CAO) of COVID-19 Unified Central Hospital.
Earlier, State Minister for Health, Umesh Shrestha had decided to remove Dr Gautam from the post of CAO on Monday. The ministry had decided to appoint Dr Rudra Marasini in place of Dr Gautam.
However, PM Deuba has given instructions to keep Dr Gautam at the hospital. According to a source at the PM’s Office, the PM expressed his dissatisfaction over the removal of Dr Gautam due to pressure from the hospital’s trade union in just two months after he was appointed to the post.
