PM to expand Cabinet on Sunday

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is all set to extent the Cabinet on Sunday.

Of the total eight ministries allocated for CPN (Maoist Center), Dahal will give a full shape to five ministerial portfolios. Dahal who reached Sheetal Niwas this morning to visit President Bidya Devi Bhandari, apprised her of expanding the Council of Ministers following concerns shown by the President.

Three ministers from the CPN (Maoist Center) have already taken the oath of office and secrecy.

 CPN (Maoist Center) is preparing to induct five more ministers tomorrow.

However, it has been an tough job for the Prime Minister to finalize the list of ministers. According to a source close to Dahal, the  list of ministers prepared already is likely to undergo changes. 

“There has been a delay in the Cabinet extension over the priority given to Madhesis and women,” a source said, “Chairman has been entrusted to select the ministers. The list of ministers will be finalized tomorrow and they will be administered oath of office and secrecy tomorrow itself.”

In the meeting held in Sheetal Niwas, Prime Minister Dahal and President Bhandari discussed the contemporary political issues apart from the Cabinet expansion,
