The meeting with the representatives took place ahead of his visit to the province, said the Prime Minister's Secretariat. "During my first tenure as the Prime Minister, I had announced the establishment of Sudurpaschim University. It is a matter of pride for me to develop the Geta Medical College into a National Health Science University," he said.
The government will decide to develop the Medical College into the first Shaheed Dasharath Chand National University, he said.
“This is a matter of pride and happiness for the province and for the entire country. I believe this university will produce qualified doctors, provide specialist medical services and carry out research relating to specialist medical and public health at a time when the country lacks a health science university.”
The university is expected to provide quality and cost-effective health services to the people of the province.
